The cool thing about this pickle is it's made with no added sugar, instead raw NZ 'honey'. Our honey is sourced locally from award winning 'Branch Creek Honey', Cardrona.

Honey is natural, its sweeter than sugar, so less is needed to achieve the same balance. This Indian pickle has a warming spiciness, is packed with iconic Central Otago apricots, fresh ginger & kaffir lime. Watch out its HIGHLY addictive!

My Story

Preserved

A multi award winner artisan producer, located in beautiful Wanaka New Zealand, Taste of the Alps specialises in hand-made small batch preserves. Its boutique range is inspired by the alpine climate and abundant seasonal offerings Central Otago is renowned for.

Hello....My name is Tineke-Maree Sutton, I am the owner/ operator of Taste of the Alps. I love this region, each new season is a moment of excitement as the Central Otago fruit - natures confectionary - ripens and harvest begins. I am so lucky to be surrounded by the worlds finest cherries, sweet Sundrop, Clutha Gold apricots, Premium Pinot Noir grapes and succulent black doris plums.

These hand picked sustainable fruits are the natural ingredients in my glass jars. The idea for Taste of the Alps came about while I was working as a Chef at a Vineyard in Cromwell. I was inspired to create my own range, preserving the best Central Otago has to offer.

Taste of the Alps preserves appeal to everyone, from a loyal buying their weekly fix, to a visitor wanting to indulge in a delicious little reminder of their stay here in Wanaka.

Share a taste of Central Otago with family and friends, shipping is available through out New Zealand.

You can recognise a Taste of the Alps jar, it features the iconic Mt Gold, a point of recognition in the area. #tasteofthealps

These versatile chutneys make Summer entertaining easy - both pair perfectly with cheese! We love the apricot as a glaze for chicken wings, too.

Featuring The Gold Miner, Apricot & orange sauce and The Gardener, Beetroot & date chutney.

'The Gardener Beetroot & Date Chutney is well balanced with earthy, tangy and sweet flavours, making it a versatile chutney that goes just as well with your barbecue as it does your next Indian meal'.

Cuisine editor Kelli Brett says New Zealand’s artisan producers truly deserve our support. “Their products are often made by hand and they don’t usually have access to mass-production methods. It’s a risk and a challenge to produce these products on such a small scale and this award category helps highlight and recognise their outstanding work.” '

What Customers Say

"I love that everytime i open a jar of Taste of the Alps, which ever preserve i've chosen, that you can tell the season it was bottled. Fresh ripe fruit to bring you a ray of sunshine. Great flavours in all the range but my fav has to be the lemon curd, slathered on toasted sourdough!
